Enhancing Professional Education with Simulation

Presenter: Ed Burns, Course Developer and instructor in Business Process Management, University of Toronto.



This month Course developer and instructor Ed Burns will join us from the University of Toronto to explore simulation as a key teaching tool for Business Process Management Courses.

During the workshop Ed will provide insight into how he gets professional students using SIMUL8 in under 40 minutes. He will also discuss why he teaches simulation and how he sees it being used by his students in real world situations.

About Ed Burns

Ed Burns is a course developer and instructor in Business Process Management for the University Of Toronto School Of Continuing Studies. This program includes analytics, process simulation and optimization, and the “softer” aspect of change management as well. He has also taught Operations Strategy & Management for the Rotman School of Management MBA program.

Ed built this expertise over 25 years of experience in implementing operations performance improvement, developing operational strategy, and conducting productivity assessments. Much of this experience has been as a managing partner for Burns, Chandler and Associates.
