The new features are designed to tackle the issues users are talking to us about and we're excited to see the impact of the new release. To take advantage of the NHS agreement to provide Scenario Generator at a discounted rate to organizations in England and Wales, please contact the healthcare team.

  • New population and costs data
  • New features for improved modeling of long term conditions
  • Update of baseline model
  • Internationalization
  • New user interface, graphics, and menus

New population and costs data

We've updated our data to reflect the changing landscape in the NHS, and internationally. Updates
  • NHS England, updated population data for CCGs
  • Local Government population data included
  • Updated cost data for NHS
  • Canada populations

New features for improved modeling of long term conditions

Working with users on models for people with long term care needs, we know that they are very often using different services at the same time.
.
For example someone at their end of their life, might be in a residential care bed, but also being supported by the palliative care team.
We have created a feature which enables you to "split" patients and service users into a number of parts to enable them to access services at the same time. This gives a more accurate view of utilization and cost.

Update of baseline model

Scenario Generator comes with a baseline model which has been created using published data, research evidence and with input from the service and baseline simulationclinicians. We have updated for NHS England to reflect new kinds of services, including psychological therapies and the new 111 service, and revalidated flows to reflect the current use of services in NHS England.
.
.

This includes:
  • Outpatient appointments
  • Elective admissions
  • ED attendance and urgent admissions
  • New 111 service
  • IAPT services in mental health
  • Maternities
There is also new baseline model for Canadian and Scotland health services.

Internationalization

We've recently launched Scenario Generator in Italy, Canada, and the Netherlands. To reflect this we've made it easy to import new population and costs for these territories. Simply select your country to import population, currency, and costs data.

New user interface, graphics, and menus

.

For the new release, we have also given our graphics a facelift. We have changed the menus to provide a more intuitive interface for users. The menus are now set up to take you in a logical progression through the steps to developing, running and analyzing your simulation.
